"But it was great. Steven, just as usual, contacted me out of the blue and said that he would be very keen to write me into the Christmas episode with Peter Capaldi. Peter is very different to David and Matt. In a funny sort of way, he’s going back to those sort of Classic Doctors. He’s older, more sort of age appropriate actually. But he definitely has a different performance energy to either David or Matt. But I think it was a very smart move actually on the part of Steven and the BBC to cast him… I met Peter after he had just finished the second season. And this particular season I know is extremely dark. And it ends obviously extremely dark, with Jenna–Clara–leaving the show.
So when I read the Christmas Special episode, I was literally–I was laughing reading the pages! It’s a great comedy. It’s sort of a classic Hollywood screwball Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracey, kind of comedy.
So I know that when I arrived in Cardiff to start filming, first of all, I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone what I was doing. And then pretty much after I’d been in Cardiff for two days, the BBC realized they had to do a press release. Because anyone who saw me in Cardiff would know. Then the crew, who’ve obviously been working on the whole season, everybody kept coming up to me saying, “Thank God for this episode because they’d been so dark, so depressing, and this is such a relief. And we get to see Peter having fun.”
And we did, we did have lots of fun. And I actually, I actually feel quite proud of th e episode. It’s really wonderful and Steven is at his absolute best. In terms of writing a terrific story and writing amazing lines for me. Basically."

Но вообще, это случай, что кто Доктора будет спрашивать, держится он за руки или нет, это Ривер Сонг, как сказала, так и будет. =)))
