TODD FIELD'S STATEMENT IN A RECENT INTERVIEW
“This sсript was written for one artist, Cate Blanchett,” Field said in a director’s statement.
“Had she said no, the film would have never seen the light of day. Filmgoers, amateur and otherwise, will not be surprised by this.
After all, she is a master supreme. Even so, while we were making the picture, the superhuman-skill and verisimilitude of Cate was something truly astounding to behold. She raised all boats.
The privilege of collaborating with an artist of this caliber is something impossible to adequately describe. In every possible way this is Cate’s film.”

Я недавно была в кино и там случилось то, что я никогда не думала повстречать:
Кейт Бланшетт сыграла охуительного Ганнибала Лектера.
И в тот момент кристальной ясности, я подумала, что кинематограф достиг своего пика среди меня и мне больше уже ничего от него не надо.

Мои соседи поворачивались на меня два раза:
Первый раз, когда в кадр вплыла дверь с надписью Dr. Lilith Ritter Psychiatrist и я издала звук умирающего тюленя
Второй раз, когда я неосознанно пронзила пространство и время и начала произносить диалог вместе с персонажами на экране.
(Это была премьера, я не могла видеть фильм до этого, диалог был абсолютной копией диалога Старлинг и Лектера "Я буду тебе давать информацию по делу, в ответ ты будешь рассказывать личные вещи о себе." Я с неверением смотрела на экран и реально ждала фразы "quid pro quo")

дель Торо, нас немножечко обманул, потому что вот этого в фильме не было, а мы очень сильно ждали:
(с учётом разворота в Лектера, это было бы занимательно. Но подождём допов)
